All lovers of cycling should visit the Velorama. It is the only bicycle museum in Holland! Located in Nijmegen, the museum is a treasure trove of information. It boasts well over 250 antique bicycles. The collection also comprises contemporary bicycles. The oldest bike is a 'dandy horse' from 1817.
Extensive collection
Velorama has a valuable collection of Western European heritage. The collection shows the development of the bicycle through the centuries. The story of designers and manufacturers comes to life. The museum also has an extensive collection of accessories and posters. The library boasts an extensive collection of books, scientific works, old price lists and photos. Most of the bikes the museum acquires are over one hundred years old. They are in poor condition. These bikes are spruced up in the museum’s workshop.
Cycle routes
The surroundings of Nijmegen are perfectly suited for a pleasant bike tour. Groesbeek will test your climbing skills with its 'seven hills'. The magnificent Ooy Polder is only a five-minute-ride from the museum. Velorama has a free cycle route for you. This lovely route takes you through woods and past rivers. The route also takes you through Germany.
