Rotterdam highlights

So many things to do and so little time! To make the most out of your stay and discover the best of Rotterdam, we have put together a list of 'must-see' museums and things to do in town. 

Euromast  (Parkhaven 20, tel. +31 (0)10 4364811)
At 185 metres high the Euromast is the place to go for the best view in town. The new super fast automatic lifts take you up to the platforms for a panoramic view over the whole of Rotterdam 

Museum Boijmans van Beuningen (Museumpark18-20, tel. +31 (0)10 4419400)
Famous for its splendid collection of centuries-old as well as contemporary art. Among the many masters whose work you will find represented here are Rembrandt, Monet, Dali, Van Gogh and Jheronimus Bosch. Rembrandt in Rotterdam: Drawings by Rembrandt and his Circle in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen

In the famous design from the hand of Rem Koolhaas, art collections in the widest sense of the word are presented each year. Old versus new art, design and photography - from elitist to popular. Its permanent collection consists of a repertoire highlighting master-forger Han van Meegeren, Leonardo da Vinci, the Hague School of painters, Jewels of the Orient, Pop-art and impressionism.

Maritime Museum (Leuvehaven 1, tel. +31 (0)10 4132680)
This Maritime museum hosts a great selection of large ship models, navigational instruments and information and objects about Holland’s rich naval tradition. Moored outside in all its glory is the 'Buffer', an imposing 19th-century turret-ram ship. Inside it’s as if time has stood still.

Truly experiencing Rotterdam means sailing through it! Explore Rotterdam in only 75 minutes, seeing everything that lives on and around the water. It is an incredible experience to see the skyline, wharves, quays and docks from so close and to take part in the busy traffic of ocean ships and canal boats, on a river that brought Rotterdam its glory. A world-class experience that doesn't take long at all! 

World Arts Museum (Willemskade 25, tel. +31 (0)10 2707172
The World Arts Museum centres around encounters and cross-cultural inspiration. The museum stimulates and surprises its visitors with contemporary and historical cultures from both far and near, through unusual exhibitions and events. The exhibition ‘Tibet and the 14 Dalai Lamas’ is on display from 3 June 2006 through 7 January 2007.

Zoo Blijdorp (Blijdorplaan 8, tel. +31 (0)10 4431495)
Diergaarde Blijdorp is the Rotterdam Zoo and very suitable for all sorts of events, such as company party, weddings, reception, presentations, dinners and meetings. Blijdorp has some extraordinary venues in a 'wild-life' setting, where sharks swim, elephants blare, lions roar and bats flit.
