I have just come back from Amsterdam, after having a terrible and dissapointing experience with the hotel, the MÖVENPICK AMSTERDAM CITY CENTER. We booked a room for three adults, as it is specified in the reservation form from the hotel when booking in the hotel website.Of course, it is presumed a minimum of comfortability for the three people in the room, but it was a sad surprise when we arrived and the bed for two people was fine, as expected, but not the third one.We already knew that the third person had to sleep in a sofa bed but we could not imagine that such "bed" was in fact a plank of wood with a very thin mattress of 5cm!! It was so surprising that I took pictures of it.We explained to the person in the front desk that it was really impossible to sleep there. The only reply (with very very bad manners) was that some people had already complained about this issue before but it was not a major problem, according to this employee. We asked to talk to the managing director: he went with us to the room and he recognized that the sofa bed is not suitable to sleep because of its hardness. But  the only solution given to us was either put another mattress of the same thickness (obviously it was not a solution), or to pay 80 euros for upgrading to a junior suite. Finally we had to be reallocated in another hotel, of lower category and far from the city center. We consider defrauded by Moevenpick, since this is not the service you can expect of a 4-star hotel. One more thing: we asked for an official complaining form but they rejected to give it, they said that with a blank sheet of paper was enough!!! A nightmare to forget
