Castle Hotel Elsloo

Elsloo Castle was the residence of many gentlemen of noble birth. Their family crests have adorned the tower walls since the 12th century. Now it is an exclusive hotel with modern hotel rooms and a restaurant that features excellent French cuisine.

When the Maas River overflowed in 1450, Elsloo Castle was left unoccupied until 1640 when there was a renewed interest in the castle. Two great fires in 1835 and 1885 destroyed a large part of the castle, which was never rebuilt.

Renovation
The remnants that were still standing are now the hotel and restaurant. Renovation started in 1986 and ended in 1989. Storage buildings and water mills are the proof that this castle was once an important attribute to Dutch agrarian society.

Facilities
Elsloo Castle is situated on the west side of the Maasberg near the Maas River in the province of Limburg, located in the southern part of Holland. The castle is surrounded by approximately 25 acres with farms, parks, woods, hiking trails, a church and a school. It is located close to Maastricht airport. The castle contains 17 double and 8 single rooms dispersed on two levels containing all the modern conveniences of a luxury hotel. There are various terraces, located at the front and at the back of the castle. The castle has 5 conference rooms of different sizes equipped with the latest in communication facilities. A botanical garden located outside the castle is also open to its guests.
