Entrepotdok
Year of construction: 2001

Liesbeth van der Pol designed the Aquartis loft apartments. Aquartis is located next to the Entrepot Dock warehouses and opposite Artis Amsterdam Zoo.

Retaining wall
Originally, a coal depot was situated on the spot were Aquartis is located now. The coal depot was designed by one of architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage's pupils. He included many roofs and used a retaining wall construction. The retaining wall has been preserved in order to maintain the ambience of the old building.

Contemporary
The Aquartis condominium roofs are made of glass, while the fronts are made of timber frames. Occupants of the building can open up the front to optimally enjoy the sunshine and the views. The huge glass facades give the building a contemporary feel. The apartments vary in layout and size, however, all apartments boast a glass sun parlor. Aquartis condominium is a long, tall building which can be seen from afar.
