Three centuries of the Royal House of Orange come to life within the lavishly furnished rooms and lovely sculptured garden of the majestic Het Loo Palace near Apeldoorn. Once the favorite summer residence of the Stadholders and Royal Family of the Netherlands from 1686 to 1975, Palace Het Loo now serves as a museum. The palace itself and the surrounding gardens have largely been restored to their original 17th-century design. The various palace rooms paint a vivid picture of the royal family's domestic life over three centuries, from William and Mary up to the reign of Queen Wilhelmina. The wings with their permanent and visiting exhibitions of historical objects, documents, paintings, china, silver, royal garments and court costumes present a picture of the historical ties of the House of Orange-Nassau with the Netherlands. A collection of royal carriages, hunting coaches, sleighs and veteran cars is exhibited in the stables.

Garden
The spring and summer planting of the baroque garden parterres surrounded by terraces, pergolas, statues and vases, in exactly the same fashion as in the seventeenth century is, to date, unique in Europe. Just as in the seventeenth century, the fountains and cascades are always in motion. The entire complex is surrounded by extensive woodland dotted with romantic lakes, and is entirely open to the public. Rest awhile! Soak up the splendor of this major ‘royal’ attraction.

Restaurants, meetings, presentations, receptions and events
Palace Het Loo serves as a place for meetings, receptions, dinners etc. for over 300 years.
Restaurant Balzaal (Ballroom, maximum of 90 people) in the west wing of the Palace and Theehuis (Tea House, maximum of 170 people) near the entrance opposite the Stables welcomes you for a royal lunch or dinner.
