The new store, named NL=New Luxury, is located in the Jacob Obrechtstraat in Amsterdam. Van Slobbe’s women’s wear label Orson+Bodil is housed on the upper level of the store, while Van Benthum’s menswear is displayed on the lower level. The interior of the co-owned boutique was designed by Event Architecture. Both designers wanted to create a separation between haute couture for men and women, visually and literally – the resulting space offers a unique spatial experience which highlights the contrast between light and dark; masculine and feminine; soft and hard.
