Living Mills of Holland

Around 1600 a Dutch Windmill was the highest building in New York, former Nieuw-Amsterdam. Even the weapon shield of New York city from 1625, had mill wicks in the shield!  In 2009 Holland Heritage® presents Living Mills of Holland!

A breathtaking film on DVD including:

The oldest Living Mill in Holland from the year 1450, Kinderdijk Mills, Mills at the Zaanse Schans and Schermer Polder and a lot more... In his inimitable way, top cinematographer-director Menno Mennes brings to life the Dutch landscape in Living mills of Holland. He uses his camera as a palette, capturing the beauty of the countryside in exquisite images, calling to mind the works of the Old Masters of yesteryear. Holland Heritage® a unique series about Holland at its very best!

Dutch Press:

De Telegraaf: ‘'A heartwarming testimony full of breathtaking images.'

AD:  'Mennes has a perfect feeling for detail, composition and light.'

Nederlands Dagblad: 'Images you'd rarely see on Dutch television.'
