New guest; a Vermeer, coming to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam

One of the masterpieces of Johannes Vermeer(1632 - 1675) will temporarily return in Amsterdam from March 11 till June 1.

'De dame met de weegschaal' (1664) originated from the National Gallery of Art in Washington is a real and pure Vermeer. The painting is shown together with 3 other masterpieces of Vermeer out of the own collection of the Rijksmuseum such as the 'De brieflezende vrouw'. Vermeer hasn't made a lot of paintings and this is the reason why it is so special that the Rijksmuseum, as the only museum in Europe, temporarily shows 5 masterpieces of the world famous painter in line.
