Between December 8 2008 and February 15 2009 the fourth edition of LightArt Kijkduin will create a fairytale like landscape in the dunes around Kijkduin (The Hague).
Graffiti and light in Kijkduin!
Illuminated globes of different sizes and colours, measuring between 50 and 100 cm diameter, are spread among the dunes, constantly changing their colours in the evening hours. Even during the daytime, when the lights are not lit, the globes create an unreal though very soothing effect.
The Kijkduin Boulevard, the Deltaplein and the dunes will be integrated into the lunar landscape by a specially designed light decoration.
In 2005 the LightArt objects were painted by young artists from The Hague, in 2006 by well-known sportsmen and in 2007 by businessmen from Kijkduin. These art objects were auctioned or sold in support of a charity.
This year local graffiti artists Daniël Ledeboer and Leo Heusdens put together a team to transform two large globes and 20 smaller globes into extraordinary art. The two large globes will be auctioned off and the others sold with proceeds going to a charity for orphaned girls in Kenya.
Take advantage of this unusual view and plan your walk routes to take you past LightArt. For more information please visit: http://www.denhaag.com/default.asp?id=9946
