New attraction launched in The Netherlands: Tulip Excursion
Tulip farmer Siem Munster starts this winter with a complete new attraction in Holland, the Tulip excursion. Mr. Munster grows over 7 million tulips in his greenhouses in the period December-mid April and invites foreign tourists to have a look at his beautiful flowers. During the excursion there will be an explanation about the growing process of the tulip bulbs and flowers and the way they are prepared to bloom in winter time. The guests will get a guided tour through the greenhouses (where they see about 1 million tulips in the different growing stadia from just above soil until bloom), cooling stores and the bunching room to experience the complete production process of the tulip. With this excursion there is a unique possibility to see the most famous flower of Holland in the period that there are no other possibilities to see flowers, namely in the winter time. This attraction is an excellent bad weather activity, since all of the flowers are grown inside in a constant temperature of 20?C. The greenhouses are located in the northern part of North-Holland, just along the Highway A7, between typical Dutch hotspots like Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans and the 32 Km long dam starting in Den Oever.
On the website, www.tulpenexcursie.nl, which is also in english, several possibilities are mentioned concerning catering and/or combinations with other attractions. During the excursion there is a possibility to buy nice tulip gadgets. The guides in the greenhouses speak english fluently. Groups are welcome 6 days a week, after reservation, minimum 20, maximum 50 persons, the entrance fee is only € 5,- per person. For more information look at the website www.tulpenexcursie.nl or call +31-227-604655.
