Fashion Prints 1790-1890 in the Museum Willet-Holthuysen

From 29 November 2007 through 30 March 2008 visitors to the Museum Willet-Holthuysen can enjoy a unique collection of fashion prints. These prints were collected by the last resident of this stunning canal-side villa, Louisa Willet-Holthuysen (1824-1895).

In addition to individual fashion prints and prints from French fashion magazines, a few costumes and fashion accessories are displayed. Photos and some personal possessions help us get to know Louisa. The prints have temporarily returned home for the Fashion Prints 1790-1890 exhibition. What better place to admire them than in the house where they were once lovingly collected! Museum Willet-Holthuysen is the only fully furnished and canal-side house in Amsterdam which is open daily to the public. The last residents were Abraham Willet (1825-1888) and his wife Louisa Holthuysen (1824-1895), for whom the museum was named after.
