Master choreographer Hans van Manen celebrates his 75th birthday in 2007. From 11 – 30 September 2007 the Dutch National Ballet will host a festival commemorating this world-famous dancer and choreographer. Renowned dance troupes from all over the world including the Kirov Ballet, San Fransisco Ballet, Stuttgarter Ballet, Bayerisches State Ballet and the Ballettmainz will contribute to the event. Netherlands participants include the Nederlands Dans Theater, Introdans and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (Royal Conservatory). Events will take place in, amongst others, the Muziektheater and the Koninklijk Theater Carré. In addition to the ballet performances, the programme includes a photo exhibit in conjunction with the Stedelijk Museum, a book by photographer Erwin Olaf, a film marathon and a documentary.
