About:
From left to right: Conrad (NY): The driven and creative leader of the clan. Traded Tribeca for the canyons of the Financial District and still can’t get over it. As a true ‘Zeelander’ he fights against the elements, in this case to prove Holland has much more to offer than its stereotypes. Bianca (NY): Left Holland almost five years ago, but is in touch with her home country on a daily basis to find out what's hot and what's not in her role as PR & Marketing manager. One of her favorite things to eat are Dutch apple pie and stroopwafels (syrup waffles), and when in season, she buys lots of Dutch tulips. Marcha (AMS): As our beloved true ‘Dutch connection’ she is our eyes and ears in the motherland. She lives in Sweet Lake City with her nineteen dachshunds and has a second life as the one and only cheese maker in Second Life. Jelte (LA): Still to come Jan (Toronto): Still to come Vicente (NY): Fabulous New York salsa teacher who relentlessly tried to get the Dutch hips moving. The look on her face tells you how good we were. She’s traveling to Holland next month. Svintha (NY): Blond, 100% Dutch girl born in the northern part of Holland, speaking with a heavy "farmers" accent (when she feels like it). She spends her weekdays at the office as Project Manager. Svintha traveled extensively, lived and worked on several continents and is dedicated to putting Holland on the map! Thirza (NY): Still to come Barbara (NY): Even though her leaky roof and two adolescent boys are a distraction she is dedicated to promote Holland’s wonderful art treasures. Being here for over 20 years she still misses real draft beer and the directness of the Dutch language, especially with her boys. Charel (NY): Desperately trying to play along with the city vibe he now thinks everything and everyone is wonderful, brilliant and awesome. Has to move for the fourth time this year … apartment anyone? Part of the circus just for being 6.4”. Will one day start a business importing ‘borrelnootjes’. Carlijn (NY): Still to come Annelie (NY): Lost about 20 pounds and a boyfriend in her time in New York, proudly calls herself a 'Brabo', a connoisseur on the good life in the South of Holland. Moving back to Bubbling Breda again after the summer to enjoy the licorice and her dad's homemade lasagna. Jort (NY): dedicates his life to promoting Friesland (province of Holland) and to his love-hate relationship with Sonja Bakker (Dutch Diet Guru). He loves playing golf and he spends hours in the kitchen preparing great meals. Irma (NY): Where’s my Dutch cheese at? A true Westchester housewife buried in the woods North of New York City. She used to be a city girl, but gave it all up for the suburban life. Only for travel, art, food and wine is she willing to part from squirrels and deer. Job (NY): Although his name suggests otherwise he is still a student. Studies in Rotterdam, but secretly loves Amsterdam. After 5pm you'll find him going door to door on the UES to personally convince people to travel to Holland. He can be quite persuasive. He misses licorice, André Hazes and his mother.
